Who we are - what we do

Coldham's Common is one of the largest commons in Cambridge and  also one of the most beautiful and idyllic.

Friends of Coldham’s Common was set up to get better management of the common. We felt there were big improvements to be made by the city council and others, not only in what was happening, but also how money is spent and how decisions are made.  Issues we have lobbied the council about include obstructed footpath, unnecessary or illegal fencing, lack of litter bins, safety with stock and Folk Festival camping. We stopped the felling of long sections of trees along the railway by Railtrack and the city.  We have also successfully lobbied the council to put in place a proper management plan for the largest greenspaces in Cambridge.

Please do get in touch if you want to get involved with the Friends and managing the common.  We believe we can make a difference together.
